Title: Virgo/Leo
Post by: jana on May 01, 2010, 09:16 AM
Hi folks,

I am having a hard time synthesizing the Virgo/Leo archetypes. I don't get the Leo expression. Can someone give me a broad stroke description of a soul (real or fictional) who is activating and expressing his Leo NN in this paradigm:

9th house Virgo Pluto, 9th Leo NN, 1st house Capricorn Mars

Thank you for your input and help

Peace
Jana :)

edit: I'm not asking for a lengthy description (unless your so inclined), just how the humility of Virgo Pluto/Pisces polarity point and Leo/ego express.
edit again: Evolutionary stage: 3rd stage individuated transitioning into 1st stage spiritual

Hi Jana, you have posted a good question. In terms of synthesizing the Virgo/Leo archetypes, generally speaking, it is good to remember that the Leo archetype correlates with creative self-actualization, and the need to actualize he Soul's special destiny. Leo is full of what it is, so to speak, and feels a sense of special destiny and purpose (as do all fire signs) that must now actualized. The distortion of this archetype is one of over self-focus (narcissism) and being overly identified with one's creative purpose from an egocentric point of view. Delusions of self-grandeur correlate with this archetype. Typically, there is a deep insecurity within the Leo archetype that creates a bottomless pit in terms of how much external recognition and feedback the person feels they need. In other words, Leo also correlates to the need to be acknowledged as special, and because of the underlying insecurity in this archetype the need for this type of feedback, or acknowledgement can become never ending. The Virgo archetype comes right after Leo, and correlates with the need for self-improvement and adjustment. This will be linked with any patterns of over self-focus and self-inflation that manifests in the Leo archetype. In essence, we are analyzing our egos in this archetype. While Leo is full of what it is, Virgo is becoming aware of all of our short comings and lacks (of what we are not). In a general sense, then, the Virgo archetype can create a natural humility within a person who also has Leo in the chart because the person, potentially, will be able to discern delusions of grandeur and purify an overly self absorbed focus in life. The person could also adjust the dynamic of the need for constant positive feedback from others,  and recognizing the special talents and capacities of others. When the Virgo/Leo archetype work together, the person could also affect self-improvement by creatively actualizing a special purpose that is linked with healing and serving others. Leo will now be linked with the need for self-improvement and service to the Whole in some way, and through the act of service a natural humility can manifest.

In the example you posted, the person would come in with a natural humility and a desire to serve (Pluto in Virgo) and a desire to align with natural laws (Pluto in the 9th house). The person would be discerning what his or her natural truth is, and the need to creatively actualize that personal truth is symbolized by the NN in Leo/9th house. Relative to the evolutionary state that you said, this person could have natural teaching/healing abilities based on a knowledge of natural law (Pluto 9th house/Virgo) that must now be actualized in this life (NN in Leo/9th house). the 9th house NN re-iterates the need and desire to align with natural law, and to express/actualize the person's natural truth. The person would have to overcome deep feelings of lack/doubt and imperfection in order to actualize the special purpose for this life (Pluto in Virgo). The NN in Leo symbolizes that a necessary self-confidence must manifest with the person's natural abilities and talents (overcome feelings of lack and self-undermining behavior).  Mars in Cap/1st house correlates with the need to express this purpose in society and to establish an independent voice of authority within society based on his/her natural wisdom and knowledge. In so doing, the person could break free from fears of societal judgment (Mars Cap/1st house) and persecution (Pluto in Virgo) that have blocked this process from fully manifesting in the past.
Hope this helps.
God Bless
Deva

Thank you Deva for taking the time to respond. I am learning, albeit slowly, but blending archetypes has been challenging. Reading this example has been very, very helpful.

Peace and God/dess bless
