Maurice Sendak died today at 83. If you have kids or were a kid you know who he is.
Why I'm posting is this reader comment I found on a blog:
"... I was born in the late 1970s. I most certainly read Where the Wild Things Are
as a child. Not only that, while in high school (in the 1990s), our yearbook committee decided to go with a Where the Wild Things Are
theme. The yearbook staff wrote to Mr. Sendak to ask him if it was ok to use the book’s imagery. Rather than sending a simple yes or no response back, he mailed the school a set of entirely new and original drawings just for our yearbook! It was amazing. ... "
Speaks for itself.
A very good article I found today on his life and his death is here: http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2012/05/08/maurice-sendak-author-of-where-the-wild-things-are-dead-at-83/
It speaks of how he faced and brought life's darkness into his work, not hiding from it or sugar coating it.
I didn't look for a birth chart. If someone wants to post it, feel free to do so.
