Chart patterns

Does EA ever look at chart patterns such as bucket, bundle, locomotive, splash, splay, etc.?

Yes it does and always from the perspective of EA: why whatever the pattern is that the Soul has chosen in any given life. If you would like to start a thread on these various patterns please feel free to do so.

CHARLES DARWIN - BOWL PATTERN

Looks to be a slightly irregular or extended Bowl pattern (11 deg over the rim).  

Why did the Soul of Darwin choose to have this chart pattern in his lifetime?  

The bowl holds things.  The bowl always has something to offer.  Darwin was able to offer the world startling new revolutionary information.  This came about because the valuable information that Darwin had already collected in his bowl (the self) was placed in relationship with the other half of the chart reflecting the need, emptiness or existential void of the PPP Virgo 9th.  He restlessly tried to fill the other half (social sphere) through a need for freedom to explore, gather more data, synthesize it, reach others and perhaps convince others.  Because the PPP is in the 9th house, he could not "hold" that unknown territory in his bowl because it was just too expanded, intuitive, ungraspable, and this is exactly how his Soul evolved.
