Hello Rad and Deva,
Many years ago I heard a lecture by Jeffrey Wolf Green about the Planetary Nodes. I am wondering if I can ask questions about the Planetary Nodes here ? And if it ok can you use the chart of Joan Of Arch to discuss them ? I will try to attach the birth chart for Joan of Arch here. If the chart doesn't post her birth data is: 6 Jan 1412, 5:00 pm LMT, DommylaPucelle, France. The position of her planetary nodes are these: N.Node of Mercury is 13 Aquarius, and the S.Node is 3 Cap, the N.Node of Venus is 11 Pisces, and the S.Node is 6 Cap, the N.Node of Mars is 6 Aries, and the S.Node is 11 Sag, the N.Node of Jupiter is 0 Cancer and the S.Node is 7 Cap, the N.Node of Saturn is 17 Cancer and the S.Node is 19 Capricorn, the N.Node of Uranus is 8 Gemini and the S.Node is 13 Sag, the N.Node of Neptune is 5 Leo and the S.Node is 4 Aquarius, and the N.Node of Pluto is 11 Cancer and the S.Node is 12 Capricorn. I very much want to learn more and more about the meaning and the use of these Planetary Nodes. Thanks so much, Zuma

Hi Zuma,
Sure you can ask anything about Evolutionary Astrology here. And we will do our best to answer whatever questions come up. Looks like the chart for Joan of Arc didn't get posted, or at least I can't see it. So here is a link for all of us to see her chart: http://www.khaldea.com/charts/joanofarc.shtml  ... and here is a short bio of her that comes from AstroDataBank:

                                                         Biography

French saint and savior who is known as the Maid of Orleans or La Pucelle D'Orleans, a national heroine and a history phenomena.

A peasant girl, she was the daughter of a plowman and tenant farmer. Inspired by her visions and voices, she led the French armies to momentous victory, marking a turning point of the Hundred Year's War. Her victory at Orleans in 1429 opened the way for the coronation of Charles VII at Reims. Joan said that she heard the voices of St. Michael, St. Catherine and St. Margaret, who divinely inspired and instructed her. The French crown was in dispute between the Dauphin, Charles, son and heir of the Valois king, Charles VI, and the English king, Henry VI. Charles cause seemed hopeless at the end of 1427 as he was not yet crowned five years after his father's death. Reims, the city where coronations were customarily held, was held by his enemies. Domremy was on the frontier and, in 5/1428, led by her voices, Joan put on men's clothes and traveled to Vaucouleurs where she asked the Captain of the garrison to see the Dauphin. She was refused and sent home but, in 1/1429 she went again. Charles' advisors agreed to give her an audience so she went on to Chiron, reaching it in late February. He kept her waiting two days then concealed himself among his couriers. She went directly to him and said she wished to go to battle and would have him crowned. In 1429, she set off for Orleans with several hundred troops on April 27. On May 4 they took the fort, with another battle on May 6, and one on May 7 in which she was wounded. When the armies met on June 18, she had a great victory over the English.

Charles was crowned with Joan present, a coronation held on 7/17/1429. Charles left Reims July 20, traveling through his country in a celebratory parade for a month. Joan had more battles and sorties, attacking Paris 9/8/1429, where she was wounded and routed. In late December 1429, King Charles ennobled her and her family. During a siege of 5/23/1430, Joan was unhorsed and when she could not remount, was captured by the Bergundians. As Charles was working toward a truce with the Duke of Bergundy, he made no attempt to save her. Joan was tried as a heretic with opening statements on 1/13/1431. She appeared a dozen times at interrogations between February 21 and March 24. As she refused to promise to not attempt escape, she was often put in irons in the cold dungeon. The original 70 charges were reduced to 12 and, in May, she became very sick in prison. Thinking herself near death, she begged for the last rites of the church. On May 29, the Judges agreed to turn her over to secular officials.

The following day she was allowed to hear a Mass before she was taken to the stake and burned to death on 05/30/1431, Rouen, France.

For this quote, and the entire letter from which it is taken, see Paine's "Joan of Arc: Maid of France", Vol. I, p. 353 [the letter runs from p. 352 - 358)

"Her childhood was spent among the forests and strawberry-covered fields of the Meuse river valley, far from the northern regions where the political situation had become increasingly troubled. The throne at that time was occupied by Charles VI de Valois (aka Charles "the Mad"), whose frequent delusional periods rendered him unfit to govern. The monarchy had therefore been placed in the hands of several members of the Royal family (the Dukes of Orléans, Burgundy [Bourgogne], Berri, and Bourbon, plus Queen Isabel), and this warm extended family had become embroiled in an ugly civil war after Duke Louis of Orléans was assassinated on the orders of his cousin Duke Jean-sans-Peur de Burgundy in 1407. France would henceforth be divided between the Orléanist (or Armagnac) faction and their Burgundian rivals. In May 1413, when Jehanne was still a baby, the conflict produced the Cabochien Revolt in Paris. For several weeks the city was subjected to a violent uprising engineered by the Duke of Burgundy, led by a butcher named Simon Caboche, and egged on by a young clergyman and Burgundian partisan named Pierre Cauchon, whom Jehanne would later meet during a less pleasant period of her life."

                                                           ***************

So let's begin the understanding of the Planetary Nodes in general at first. Any time we are dealing with the Nodes of the Planets, including the Moon, we are of course dealing with the natural archetype of the trinity: the past, present, and the future. As a result we are dealing with the natural evolution of the archetypes of all the planets and how this natural evolution is a reflection of the desires of each Soul. As we know the evolution of the Soul is caused by the types of desires that it has. Each soul is unique to itself yet all Souls have as a common determinant the natural law of desires that correlate to each Souls individual evolution.
To understand the Planetary Nodes of each of the planets is to understand the archetypes of those planets. Once we understand the archetypes of each planet the next step is simply to apply the natural law of the evolutionary trinity to them: the past, present, and the future as symbolized is their South Nodes, the current position of the planet in question ( the current life position of the natal planet ), and of course it's North Node.
We must always understand when we are looking at life from an evolutionary point of view that the past is always the basis of the present: it is always conditioning the present. It is because we have a past that we have a present and because we have a present defined by the past we also know that there is a future. It is because we have a future, of that which can be, that we have evolution itself. Thus, the natural pull of the future that we all experience is that which allows all of life, each soul , to evolve from the present moment that is defined by the past. If there was not this natural evolutionary pull to the future we would simply have a reality that does not evolve and remains stagnant for eternity.
Each planet will have their own North and South Nodes by sign. The signs of the Nodes correlate with their own archetypal meanings that correlate with how and why the archetypes have been developed, and will be developed as integrated in each moment where each moment is the actual house and sign of the natal planet in question. In turn each Node of the planets with have their own planetary rulers where the rulers of each node, by their own house and sign placement within the natal chart, and aspects that they are making to other natal planets, correlate to very specific and individual ways in which the ongoing evolution of the planets occurs.
Within this we must remember that it is essential to understand the core evolutionary intentions of each Soul as symbolized in the main evolutionary dynamic in each chart: the natal position of Pluto, it's polarity point, the positions of the North and South Nodes of the Moon, and the locations of their planetary rulers by their own houses and signs. Once this is understood then we can rightly understand the positions of all the other planets, including their North and South Nodes, and the location of their own planetary rulers by their own houses and signs, as correlating to the fulfillment in total of that core evolutionary intentions of the Soul relative to the main evolutionary dynamic in each chart.
This then will provide for the total and full picture of the ongoing evolutionary intentions of any given Soul.
So looking at Joan of Arc as an individual Soul we must first establish her evolutionary stage of development. My sense, given her life, is that she is well within the First Stage Spiritual in which one of the hallmark or archetypes within that stage is karma yoga: to do a work on behalf of God in such a way that the agency of the work becomes a vehicle through which God is made present to the individual. Thus she 'hears' voices giving her instructions as to what to do, and makes a decision to to just that. And these voices were the voices of 'saints' who had already 'died'.  This can be seen in her birth chart by the 11th house Pluto in Gemini which forms a ten degree square to her Nodal Axis of the Moon: skipped steps. And that South Node is Virgo in her Second House, conjunct Mars, which itself is ruled by her Mercury in Capricorn in her Sixth House. At this point we then need to see that the South Nodes of her Venus, Mercury, Jupiter, and Pluto are also conjunct that natal Mercury in her Sixth House.  The utter dominance of this signature does indeed correlate to not only her inner desire to be of service to God, karma yoga, but to be of service to her nation or country: France. This was her way also of establishing her own authority: Capricorn, her own place within the social structure or society.
In addition, the these voices initially were instructions about how to take care of and 'govern' herself: Capricorn. These inner voices of the Saints equaling God to her is also seen by her S.Node of Neptune in Aquarius conjunct her natal Uranus and the asteroid Pallas. In addition her N.Node of Mercury is conjunct these points.
And yet she was a women in the context of an extremely patriarchal time: Capricorn. Any Soul will be in one gender , male or female, to a preponderant degree over the other. Yet all Souls must also come into it's opposite gender in certain lives in order to evolve through such a natural balance even though all Souls are naturally and equally male and female. When we insert the asteroid Amazon in her chart it is at 29 degrees Aries in her 10th house, which is ruled by her Mars in Virgo conjunct her S.Node of the Moon in her 2nd house. To me this symbolizes that her Soul is a natural amazon Soul: a amazon women. Her inner relationship to herself was based on this. As a result she would have a naturally strong inner male within her natural feminine. And, yet, she was born into this rigid patriarchal time when she was Joan of Arc. This is of course why she then had to put on the costumes of men, to make herself look like a man, in order to be heard or listened to by them at all: for her to be able to assert, Mars, her authority, Capricorn, to them. Within this we need to remember that her sense of inner authority came from the inner voices that she heard that gave her her sense of direction and purpose for the very life that she lived.
The planet that rules those S.Nodes in Capricorn in her 6th house is Saturn in Taurus in her 11th house. It is this symbol that correlates with her Soul's desire, and the basis of the voices that she heard, to not only unite her country from it's civil wars, but to help establish the rightful ruler and king for France. Establishing the rightful ruler or King is also seen in her S.Nodes of Mars and Uranus in Sagittarius being in her 5th House: royalty. And those Nodes are ruled by Jupiter in Libra with the Moon in her 4th House: her homeland. And because they are in Libra this correlates to the 'justice' of Charles becoming the King.
So of course where all this lead was a massive confrontation with the 'authority' of the Church and it's earthly agents. And this confrontation not only lead to her intense persecution and humiliation, S.Node in Virgo conjunct Mars in Virgo, but of course all those S.Nodes in her 6th House with the natal Sun, Mercury, and Venus to boot. Once she was captured this was all set in motion and of course correlated to her intense personal crisis in which she was challenged by these external authorities of the Church to choose between the authority of the Church as embodied in the Pope and it's other agents, and the inner authority that she has received from the voices on the inner saints that spoke to her and gave her her very mission, karma yoga, for her life.
And it is this exact challenge that correlates with her 'skipped steps' as symbolized by her Pluto squaring her nodes. This challenge and confrontation with these external authorities is seen not only through Pluto's square to the N.Node of the Moon in her 8th house, but also the N.Node of Venus in that 8th house as well. And both are ruled by Neptune in Cancer in her 12th house which also conjuncts her N.Node of Jupiter, but also the N.Node of Pluto itself. The essence of this 'test' and confrontation came down to whether she would accept that authority of the external Church and it's agents, or remain to committed first and foremost to the inner sense of authority that she received from the voices of the Saints equaling, to her, God.
In some other lifetimes , and through different circumstances, this exact same kind of test happened before and she compromised her deepest inner truth, the truth of the inner God or Godhead that correlated to her sense of personal identity and purpose, to external authorities who challenged it with the threat of death: Pluto squaring the nodal axis in her 2nd and 8th houses, square Mars in the 2nd. And she chose in those lives to survive, 2nd house, rather that die. This skipped step, remaining loyal to the inner Godhead and the teachings and truths that came from there no matter what the consequences to the Soul from the external world, thus had to be recovered in order for her Soul to be able to continue to evolve.
Through her ordeal of being grilled during her 'trials' at the hands of the Church and it's agents she remained committed to her truth and inner authority no matter how many threats were made to her. She was placed in a prison with men: not women. Not only did she contract serious illnesses there to the point of almost dying, but was also subjected to the gang raping by these men: Mars in Virgo in her 2nd, conjunct her S.Node of the Moon, the Mars itself square her Pluto and Pluto square her N.Node of the Moon in her 8th House with the N.Node of Venus there.
During this ordeal she weakened , her Soul weakened, for a small amount of time and she attempted to recant her declarations about the inner voices of the Saints and the inner authority of God that came from them. She did this in order to survive: 2nd house. This is of course the echo of certain previous lives in which she had done this exact same thing. Yet it did not take her long to liberate from this either. The N.Node of Uranus is indeed conjunct not only her natal Pluto in the 11th, but also squaring her Nodes of the Moon and natal Mars, and the N.Node of Venus: to liberate from the skipped steps by reasserting her inner authority as defined by the voices of the Saints that she heard. Her Uranus is also ruled by her Mercury in Capricorn which is conjunct those S.Nodes of Mercury, Venus, Pluto, and Jupiter.
And, of course, this lead directly to her being burned alive: Mars on her S.Node in Virgo, in her 2nd house. The N.Node of that Mars is in Aries in the 9th House, square natal Neptune in Cancer in the 12th house with the N.Nodes of Jupiter and Pluto. She was burned alive yet in so doing not only did she recover her own skipped steps but died as a 'warrior of God', a warrior for the Truth no matter what the personal consequences were to her. And, as a result, and paradoxically, THE CHURCH FINALLY CANONIZED HER AND MADE HER A SAINT on May 16, 1920. And this happened with the transiting Uranus EXACTLY CONJUNCT HER N.NODE IS PISCES IN HER 8TH HOUSE, TRANSITING PLUTO CONJUNCT HER 12 HOUSE NEPTUNE, AND TRANSITING SATURN CONJUNCT HER S.NODE AND MARS !!

Let me know if this helps you Zuma and if you have any other questions. If any one else wants to ask more about the Planetary Nodes please do. Rad

Rad,

SPEECHLESS..BRILLIANT beyond words..

Any way of knowing where that life of being burned to death and dying for her natural God lead? Can you see that in looking at the north nodes of planets? A next life sort of scenario ie intention if that Pluto square was resolved? And clearly it was..

Or can that simply be seen with the status of the church calling her a saint (over 500 years later), following her Soul sacrifice?

There must have been some lives in between...she deserved a few or more in Fiji relaxing in a hammock, but the amazon would indeed get bored of that.

That was amazing..thanks.

Hi Rad,

Wonderful analysis...EA is amazing for the depth and detail that it uncovers.

Just wanted to pass along that according to Wolf, Joan of Arc is in the third stage of spiritual evolution.

Yes, Evolutionary Astrology does allow one to see the future dynamics of a Soul in lives to come that are dependent on the choices being made in the current life. So relative to the choices that Joan of Arc made, resolving the skipped steps in the way that she did, and given there was a series of lives that preceded that life of intense crisis relative to the same issues, the EA astrologer can then look at her N.Node in Pisces in the 8th House, and it's ruler Neptune in Cancer in her 12th with the N.Nodes of Jupiter and Pluto conjunct that Neptune. And these are in opposition to the mass of Capricorn planets in her 6th House.
This would mean, to me, that her Soul would have some future lives of deep Soul healing, lives of simplicity, lives without intense personal crisis, some lives that I would call 'time out' lives in which her Soul is allowed to rest. Lives that would probably take place in Nature and around water, plants and animals with a minimum of human contact. Lives in which the living inner Godhead is a total reality to her at all times, lives in which she will be progressively prepared to heal others through touch and faith.

Pallas is of course an asteroid that correlates, among other dynamics, to one's awareness or consciousness being 'seeded' from thoughts or ideas that come from Souls in higher planes of existence such as the Astral Plane. So with Joan of Arc having her Pallas not only in Aquarius but conjunct her Uranus and N.Node of Mercury in her 7th house remembering as Wolf taught that the 7th house is 'hearing' other's, and all of this is trining her Pluto in Gemini in her 11th with the N.Node of Uranus she of course was hearing the voices of these three Saints.

Hi Stacie,
Thanks for saying that about Wolf. And, of course, he is right. When one remembers that one of the things that Wolf taught about that 3rd Stage within the Spiritual Stage is that as the Soul evolves through it that their 'name', as in Joan of Arc , can transcend the individuals actual life and live on into the future and become progressively widely known as hers has. And many others at this level of evolution. Thanks for pointing that out.

Rad,
Thanks so much for that information about the Planetary Nodes and the incredible analysis of Joan of Arch. I got so very much from it. Is it ok to ask more questions about the Planetary Nodes. Thank you, Zuma

Hi Zuma,
Yes, you can ask anything about Evolutionary Astrology, including more information about the Planetary Nodes that you wish too.

Rad,
That's great to know that I or anyone can ask whatever we need too about Evolutionary Astrology. I feel so, so drawn to it because it has the capacity to answer the 'why' of life. And the Planetary Nodes seems so important to me because they add so much to the total understanding of any Soul's journey. What I would like to ask about today is how to understand the transiting Planetary Nodes. How do they correlate in a person's chart, and, also, what does the transit of them mean in general ? What I mean by that is , for example, right now the transiting South Node of Venus is in Aquarius, and the North Node of the transiting Venus is in Taurus. So is there a correlation or meaning to those transits of the Planetary Nodes that applies to everyone ? Thanks so much. Zuma

Hi Zuma,

I know your questions were directed to Rad, but I hope its ok that I contribute some thoughts/observation to the example and question you've asked.

As we know, the venus archetype correlates to what we call "˜essential needs', as well as inherent "˜resources' that can be tapped for the self-sufficient meeting of these needs (a result of effort).  Essential needs and the resources we have to meet those needs are directly linked to the issue of "˜survival'.  We can see that transiting venus rx at 10 aries, relative to its south node at 20 aquarius and north node at 1 taurus, is reflecting a direct connection to the global economic crises that is underway at this time, which is impacting and creating trauma/social unrest on the international level.  If we observe these symbols through synastry to the USA chart, we find transiting venus retrograding through USA's 11th house, the transiting south node of venus in USA's 10th house approaching exact conjunction to USA's natal lucifer, and the north node of venus just inside the USA's 12th.  Natally, USA has venus in cancer in the 2nd house, conjunct its own north node, jupiter and it's own north node, the sun, and the north node of mercury.  By extension, from the point of view of the 2nd house stellium, we can safely include the north node of pluto in this group of conjunctions.  In the USA we have major corporations suddenly collapsing, which itself is threatening the basic stability of the overall economic system as a whole...the domino effect.  People are suddenly losing their jobs, or perceiving an imminent threat to losing their jobs in near future.  This creates an effect of trauma, relative to the sudden loss or potential loss of resources/means of sustaining survival on the individual level.  In the USA we have the institution of government (10th house) scrambling to find a way to direct financial aid to these collapsing corporations in a desperate attempt to resecure the basic stability of the economic system before it disintegrates beyond reasonably short term repair.  And of course what we see playing out is that this aid is being given to members of an elite population (relative to socioeconomic status) in extremely liberal sums of money to pay out bonuses which have become an established standard for executive lifestyle.  This has started to generate a deep rumbling of social unrest and objectionary anger within the general population.  Some individuals within this general population are so angry by what they see as an abuse and outright violation of essential social equitability, that they are threatening utter rebellion against the order of law and warning of intentions to take matters into their own hands by striking out on these elite individuals who are receiving the tax-payer funded bonuses.  These executives have reported feeling utterly terrorized by these threats. This is a dangerous pattern that can materialize in the form of group violence we call mobbing, which can take various expressions.  Mobbing generates its fuel through the dynamic we call behavioral contagion. We can see the beginnings of this pattern taking root.  A relatively benign example that I heard about on the news today, are these 'bus tours' that are planned for this weekend, in which groups of people who wish to apply pressure in an utterly personal way upon these executives, will be driving to these executive's neighborhoods and homes! But anyhow, in typical aquarian/11th house fashion, the events within this systemic crises are developing rapidly (11th house/aquarius = acceleration), and with each new development, the far-reaching impact is becoming progressively apparent, creating alarm.  The constructive intention within this crises would be to generate an evolutionary leap as a society and a collective, relative to innovating and reconstructing an existing outmoded, corrupt, and crumbling economic structure/system.  The destructive potential of course would be a progressive loss of trust within the collective itself, manifesting as an increasing resistance of individuals to cooperate in the context of a cohesive group which is needed to effect the major changes/transformation necessary...i.e., every man for himself...the root of anarchy.  The extremity of what this would allow, would be an absolute systemic collapse and fragmentation that blows apart the economic system and utterly alters the landscape of what we have come to know as our "˜lifestyles'.  The relative freedom and diversity of choice/opportunity that has been available to the general U.S. population as a means of sustaining ourselves and our families in a context of individual expression could conceivably be replaced by a fundamental limiting collective restriction that necessarily must focus on basic survival for a time.  So this is where the natural archetypes of community; giving, sharing, and including; listening; and sustained effort to utilize inherent resources in new, innovative ways becomes a paramount issue, as this is what will help us navigate the current crises safely and preserve essential stability within a transforming societal structure/culture.  Within this collective pattern, individuals will experience a specific impact relative to their own personal situation and role within the societal system.  Many people will find themselves tested with absolute feelings of being victimized by the system itself and will find their faith in the collective unit dissolving, to a point where the temptation can get very intense to surrender all hope in the role and function of the collective unit.  Such feelings are being induced by evil and therefore should be avoided to the deepest extent possible, because if people begin acting on the basis of these induced magnified fears and negative emotions, the effects of self-fulfilling prophecy can then be empowered to manifest in reality. So, the key in avoiding these traps is in making a sustained effort to maintain objectivity to the best of one's ability, at every stage of this unfolding crises.  You can see the archetypes of transiting venus and the archetypes of its nodes operating in what has just been described?

Hi Zuma,
To understand the transiting Planetary Nodes in any chart is first to understand the individual context for each Soul: the actual individual Soul reality. And that starts of course with an understanding of the natal position of Pluto as that is referenced to the S.Node of the Moon by house and sign placement, and the location of it's planetary ruler by it's own house and sign, and aspects to it. Aspects to the S.Node of the Moon, and aspects to that natal Pluto all correlate to the past context of the Soul: it's desires for evolution. Within that we can then understand, the actual context, of the S.Nodes of all the other planets as they all are linked to this underlying , core, evolutionary signature as symbolized by these points.
In the same way, to understand the current evolutionary intent for the Soul is to understand Pluto's polarity point by house and sign, the location of the N.Node of the Moon by house and sign, and the location of it's planetary ruler by house and sign. And aspects to these points by other planets that all contribute to the current evolutionary intention of the Soul. The N.Nodes of the other planets, once the individual context is understood, then all contribute to the actualization of this core evolutionary dynamic or intention by the location of them by their own houses and signs, and aspects to them by other planets.
All of these symbols thus correlate to evolutionary dynamics of the Soul for it's whole lifetime: the natal imprint.
The transiting S.Nodes of the other other planets simply means where the Soul is re-meeting it's own past at any given moment relative the archetypal meanings of each planet. Right now the transiting S.Node of Venus is in Aquarius. So that will land somewhere in any of our birth charts. And the transiting N.Node of Venus is in Taurus which will be somewhere in any of our charts. So first, of course, it is necessary to understand the total archetype of Venus.
So, first, once we understand the natal evolutionary signature for any Soul, the core evolutionary dynamics symbolized by Pluto, it's polarity point, the N. and S. Nodes of the Moon, and their planetary rulers, we can then look into any other of the planetary nodes to see how they all contributed to this core evolutionary signature. The S.Nodes of all the other planets, by their own house and sign locations, other planets they may be aspecting them, have all contributed to the core evolutionary signature of the Souls desires and intentions. What kinds of relationships was the Soul forming and why ? What kinds of values did the Soul orientate too and why ? What constituted the sense of meaning and purpose for those lifetimes and why ? What kinds of inner relationships did the Soul have with itself and why ? How was it able to relate to others and why ? Etc. These are Venus things.
So we do this with all the Planetary Nodes. It just a matter of understanding the total archetypes of all the planets. What are the Mercury archetypes and how have they been orientated too in past lives and why ? What are the Mars ones, Jupiter ones, etc, etc. Once we have this total grasp and understanding of all the past life dynamics and why, we can then understand where the Soul comes into life at: the past that has lead to the current life. Once we know that total context then we can truly understand the nature of all the N.Node symbols for all the other planets. It is through those N.Nodes of all the other planets that not only do the archetypes of those planets evolve within the consciousness of the Soul, but they also correlate too how the Soul intends to fully develop the current evolutionary intentions for the life being lived as related to the core evolutionary signature in all charts: natal Pluto, it's polarity point, the N. and S.Nodes of the Moon, the location of the planetary rulers of each.
Each planet has their own Nodal Axis. This is the natural law of the trinity that we can call the past, present, and future. The past of course are the S.Nodes. The future are the N.Nodes, and the present is the position of the natal planet as it relates to it's nodal axis. The natal signature of all of these is a life signature that operates for the whole life: life a foundation upon which a house is built. The natal position  of the planet relative to it's own nodes is the integration point relative to the past and the future for the past is always defining the moment as is the evolutionary pull of the future. The forces of the past and the future must have an integration point in the present. And that is the natal position of the planet itself.
The transiting S.Nodes of any planet, or the Moon, is where we are always meeting our past in some way so as to evolve it into the future which is the meaning of the transiting N.Nodes of the planets and the Moon. Within this , of course, we also have the transit of the planets themselves at any moment in time with the transiting Nodes of those transiting planets. So, here again, we have the natural trinity: the transiting planet and it's nodes. The transiting planet relative to it's Nodes is the integration point in the present for the issues that are manifesting relative to it's nodes: past and present. And this transiting trinity of a planet and it's nodes is then related to the underlying evolutionary signature for life as demonstrated in the natal positions of that planet and it's nodes.
This is how to understand and use the Planetary Nodes in the individuals chart. Each Soul. Then of course there is the collective: the transiting positions at any moment in time for any planet, and it's nodes, and this affects and impacts on each of our individual lives. Stacies wonderful answer for you demonstrates exactly how this works.

hi zuma...
a few more thoughts here on the tr nodes relative to transiting SN of Venus in Aquarius and tr NN of Venus in Taurus. Clearly all souls on the planet are impacted with this current crisis surrounding funds...future survival. The tr SN of Venus in Aquarius is forcing us all to connect to our commnunity, neighbors..tribe..to share resources to become creative in how we gather and share. Sustainable living etc. It may very well be activating past life fears of losing everything, perhaps being a part of a tribe that was destroyed..so this period could activate unresolved trauma relative to not having enough resources, increasing people's fears ..ie what if the same thing happens..ie we run out.. The current transit of Venus is also retrograde in Aries and so people are needing to find NEW ways of earning and utilizing resources..new ways to move forward..birthing new ideas that reflect the current econmic climate. NN of Venus in Taurus is also about simplifying, consolidating..getting highly practical and streamline, not wasting anything..being mindful of the planet...being good to our Mother ie mother nature...it is about getting back to your roots..Taurus.. finding value in the simple things that do not cost money..ie listening to music, walks in nature..It reminds me of a quote I read from Yogananda he said, "Simplify your life as much as possible, and you will see how joyful you can become".

As Venus retrogrades back and dips into Pisces at 29 degrees in April, this to me can represent recovering more of people's spiritual selves...the need to trust in a bigger God now.it can equal the miracle or the disaster...This can also equal people needing to totally surrender to old ways of being..to heal broken pieces of the past..to also keep your eye one the bigger picture too at the same time current survival themes are in operation..to plan accordingly.
Relative to personal relationships, this also goes back to recovering your roots (Taurus)..NN of Venus makes a natural trine to tr Saturn in Virgo and Pluto in Cap by sign.all earth signs...going back to one's own vital SOUL essence..to personally liberate from conditioned patterns..TO CREATE NEW STRUCTURES/REALITIES THAT RELFECT THE ACTUAL SOUL SELF...re-access one's own individuality (SN in Aquarius), the unique way they were designed by God/dess. Venus in Taurus is also about one's inner relationship to self. it all starts there, and through extension Goddess. Tr SN Venus in Aquarius will help unlock long term memories of one's essential needs/ nature.. which can help souls reclaim their individuated self... then by accessing NN of Venus in Taurus...to stay centered and grounded in this liberation, to feel the inner freedom of who they are and stayed rooted in that - to free any inner judgements they may have. To be in relationships with others in ways that reflect who they actually are..to totally SHOW UP without filters, versus how they may have been operating. In some cases this may lead to being alone... ie breakups...Aquarius/Taurus can equal that..Knowing what you need and then being a broken record in your expression of those needs..this is the inconjunct between 2nd house and 7th house....People's front line of survival now beyond the basic need for food and shelter etc. is in getting to the root of their essential nature and needs..experiencing and then expressing this essence once this is unearthed, the truth of their deisres..(tr Venus in Aries)..allowing those natural INSTINCTS to surface and then making choices with a NEW COURAGE, that comes from owning these desirs that reflect their instinct..and essential individual needs. The tr Venus rx in Aries is serving to help people recover their desire nature and own their unique individuality ( tr SN in aquarius)..and all that makes them unique..this can and will create crisis in relationships.as we have seen with the Pluto NN example.written by Linda//.the man in crisis because of the different values he and his partner have..this will reach a crisis pt for those who are not on the same page as their partner...This transit for partners that are expressing their own unique individuality independent of one another and together can sweetly benefit by this current Venus transit.. as the Taurus element can serve to deepen and strengthen the foundation personally for people staying true to who they are and in partnerships when the essential natures are expressed and mutually honored.
