Hi Gonzalo, Thanks for the feedback, and yes a lifetime represented by a planet in any cosmogram takes place in the geodetic zones represented by that planet's natal sign (and its cross signs, cardinal/mutable/fixed) or house (the sign equivalent) -- not necessarily those of the lead planet in the cosmogram. Here is where Rad cleared that up: http://schoolofevolutionaryastrology.com/forum/index.php/topic,416.msg7104.html#msg7104Looking forward to continuing in our work here, With love, God bless, Jason

Hi Gonzalo,
I am wondering if you would like to focus on Luciano's natal Mercury in terms of why his Soul would choose this Mercury relative to his ongoing evolutionary intentions ? And, within that, what the role of his S.Node of Mercury has been, and what the role/ meaning is for his N.Node of Mercury. If think if we do that it would help refocus the intention you have for this thread with is to focus on the archetype of Mercury from an EA point of view.
God Bless, Rad

Hi Rad …
Yes, thank you, I would like to come back to the intention of this thread …
God Bless,
Gonzalo
******************** … in Luciano’s birthchart, Mercury is in the 12th House, in Capricorn. In general terms, his communication patterns alternate between periods in which he becomes very reflective and spaced out, in which he communicates with very long sentences in which he attempts to articulate and give form to his inner thoughts, and where he seems to miss the link between one idea and the next, forgets what was talking about, etc. … in these periods he is very serious and at same time seems to be amazed by all the different connections and possibilities that are implied in what he tries to say, etc.; and periods in which he becomes a quite compulsive speaker, where he speaks about everything and anything, interrupts any other person who may be speaking, and creates all types of loud voices and noises during hours. Period one reflects his natural orientation to investigate the nature of things as they exist in themselves, ie. phenomenal reality, which creates an inherent difficulty for communication within any existing parameters, grammar, etc. … because phenomenal reality in itself does not fit within those parameters, or, in other words, the possible linear arrangements that could give account of any perceived reality are almost unlimited.
Thus, Mercury in Pisces creates a divergent thought orientation in which the mutable nature of Mercury can create many possible directions all of which seem or are equally logical. This compounds with a desire to ‘say it all’, so to speak, given that the Soul can be aware at each moment of how the chosen words don’t reflect the totality that wants to communicate. To this inherent difficulties have added traumas in which his words have not been correctly understood by other people. Better said, the nature of his intentions, motives, etc. has not been understood by other people, creating crises for the Soul, and originating a desire to communicate in standard ways, or in whatever linear and logical way that would be understood by all.
Pattern two would reflects a dynamic where he overidentifies with any thoughts and words emanating in his conscious awareness, which compounds with his desires for social interaction and attention (Mercury in the 12th House ruled by Saturn in the 7th House squaring the nodes, Mercury conjunct the Ascendant). Mercury in the 12th House Capricorn reflects a desire to surrender the thought function to the experience of Wholeness, and the potential resistance to such desire manifesting in an intellectual orientation. At same time, reflects the desire and need to create an order allowing to relate to the inner world of images, and to understand the reasons of existing confusion (Pluto polarity point in the 6th House, Mercury ruled ... Mercury in the 12th House).
Mercury in the 12th House correlates with an evolutionary need to look for information concerning Ultimate reality. Mercury in Capricorn correlates with an evolutionary need to look for information concerning the nature of conditioned, local, space/time and cultural and social reality. In Luciano’s evolutionary condition, Mercury in the 12th House in Capricorn, would correlate with the need to obtain information concerning:
- the relationship between Ultimate reality, or the Source (12th House), with any particular form or structure of consciousness (Capricorn). Several times he has asked and he has shown resistance to accept that Jesus of Nazareth was a man, not God. Within this type of information lies the fact that God is not external to the Soul, but internal.
- the relationship between ideals and reality in general
- Ultimate parameters for what is good and wrong, which depend on the intentions
- the story of how ideals, cultural ideals and spiritual ideals and revelations have been applied and distorted by humans, and how some of these chapters have been a cause of his own disillusionment. This includes the history and geography of ancient cultures and religions, sacred sites, etc. (Mercury in Capricorn in the 12th House...)
- the nature of cultural, social and parental conditioning and imprinting, from an Ultimate point of view
- the nature of responsibility and guilt from an Ultimate point of view
- the nature of his social role, from the point of view of God’s will.
- the nature of social conditioning concerning gender roles.
- in general terms, he would need information about how he came to place too much meaning in something which is not the Source, but only a reflection of the Source ...
The South Node of Mercury is in the 12th House Capricorn, New phase conjunct Mercury [given that, despite their yearly conjunction, Mercury travels a larger mean distance than its own south node, because of retrogradation, I am considering that Mercury’s mean motion is faster than the mean motion of its South Node, considering …is this correct?]. The North Node of Mercury is in the 2nd House, Aquarius, with its ruler being Uranus in the 3rd House Pisces.
The new phase conjunct between Mercury and its South Node reflects that the Soul will need to gravitate to pre-existing thought orientations, in order to relive thought or communication dynamics from the past, or to information of human conditioned nature, with the intention to linearly understand the reasons why these dynamics have existed, and to linearly understand the nature of such information. Given that also Mercury is New phase conjunct Venus, all ruled by Saturn Rx. in the 7th House Cancer, square the nodes, this implies the need to recreate key relationships with other people from the past, including his biological family, in order to initiate or resume necessary conversations about the relationships. Also, the Mercury conjunction with its south node, both in Capricorn, both in the 12th House, reflects that would have desires to gravitate to strict, dogmatic and or religious, man-made points of view about the nature of reality, God, etc. Also, this symbol implies the desire to recreate experiences of disillusionment or misunderstanding based on his idealistic desires to communicate which have clashed with the others’ capacity to understand, or resistance to embrace what he communicates.
The North Node of Mercury being in the 2nd House, Aquarius, reflects the evolutionary desire and need to internalize the thought process, in order to find the information and answers he seeks, from within. It also reflects a need to linearly understand how it is his own subjectivity, and his desire nature, that determine the linear arrangements he creates for whatever aspect of reality is thought about, selecting which information will be included in the thought process. Being in the 2nd House, this would need to occur through a stabilization and slowing down of the thoughts. Being in Aquarius, this North Node also reflects the need to liberate from existing conditioning that affects the thought process. Being conjunct Neptune, relative to the natal Mercury in the 12th House, this symbol indicates that his Soul desires to surrender, dissolve, or sacrify the intellectual orientation defined by patriarchal conditioning, allowing to reconnect with his body (2nd House), in order to think with his body, through exploration of his sensation body as a source of information and knowledge.
Mercury has the following aspects:
- Crescent phase quintile to the South Node in the 10th House: this reflects that Mercury function was developed in past lives, in many different ways, in which the Soul linked the nature of its social role to the nature of different types of information, and where the Soul’s sense of self was actualized and became overly identified with this left brains dynamics, and roles.
- Balsamic semisextile to Neptune in Aquarius in the 2nd House: this re-states the need to surrender the intellectual orientation, stabilize thought, leading to states of inner 'silence' where non-dual consciousness can manifest.
- Last Quarter septile to Uranus in the 3rd House, Pisces: reflects fated experiences of misunderstanding, fated experiences of communication from other realms of forms of consciousness, both having the intention to realign the Soul with its evolutionary intentions.
- New phase conjunct Venus in the 12th House: this conjunction reflects the need to linearly understand the nature and reasons of the inner states, and relatedness patterns of Luciano, which have included states of almost complete confusion and victimization;
- Crescent phase square to Jupiter in the 10th House: reflects that the Soul is in a process of defining its overall mental and philosophical patterns, based on the review of all prior existing patterns, thus requiring internalization of the thought process, and the natural push/pull between withdrawal and social interaction.
- First Quarter trine to the Moon in the 5th House Taurus: reflects the emotional need of the Soul to openly communicate the nature of his inner states, fears, and illusions, the need to give names and classifications to the emotional states experienced … also reflects the potential of overly identifying himself with the knowledge from an egocentric point of view.

... just some further thoughts by now ...
Further, he would need information about what are the reasons for his feelings of guilt, both learned and natural guilt. He would need to know that most of his feelings of guilt, self-doubt, originate in misjudgment and severe criticism issued against him by society, while his motives and intentions were ultimately very pure and much valuable.
The Mercury/Moon trine with the Moon in the 7th House also correlates with the need to find an expression and creative manifestation for the inner world, and the possibility of using thought as an investigation tool and a vehicle to connect the inner world with the material world through some form of art, which would allow him to create an egocentric concentrated focus (Moon in the 5th House Taurus) providing emotional security and a sense of direction and relative control based on a feeling of purpose linked with creation (5th House). Luciano is indeed a great painter and drawer, and is always giving his creations, to the parents. At same time, he would at some point be able to linearly view the connections between the creations and the inner world. With the Moon being in Taurus, music would be another natural manifestation. Luciano sings very well and has a very beautiful loud voice (Moon Taurus 5th House). Thus, he could compose and sing or play his own melodies and creations. With the Moon being in Taurus, this correlates also with body expression, communicating emotion and feeling through his body. He is an innate actor and he also dances. (Of course many times he does not know if he is acting or being real. Thus, Mercury in the 12th House Capricorn also reflects the desire to intellectually understand the nature of the unconscious roles that he may act, and how these roles are in fact created by his Soul based on its illusions, and desires, and the past experiences created because of these … )
Mercury in the 12th House conjunct Venus and trine the Moon in Taurus also reflect the desire and need to linearly understand the nature of his sensation body, and why the Soul has been confused about the sensations experienced by the body … which is rooted in patriarchal conditioning implying suppression of the senses .. Within the culmination implied by Mercury in the 12th House (also Pluto/Mars Balsamic conjunct in the 12th House), Luciano’s Soul desires to intellectually understand the reasons for the crises that have defined so many lifetimes (the nature of the 12th House), and the reasons for the masochism that his Soul has manifested in past lifetimes.
Given that the Moon in the 5th House is Gibbous phase sesquicuadrate to Pluto, and Crescent phase square to Neptune in the 2nd House, it would imply that Luciano could try to compensate the deep unresolved insecurities and doubts-including self-doubt-through the creation of a narcisistic or egocentric orientation in which the insecurity translates into projected expectations of external acclaim or recognition. This could also imply assuming destined roles of social leadership (moon is septile the Sun in the 1st House Capricorn… South Node in the 10th House, balsamic conjunct Jupiter … North Node in Aries … ). The Moon is also quintile and rules Saturn in the 7th house ... ie. projected expectations manifesting as creative self-actualization ...
However, these types of experiences and dynamics would be fated to prove illusions, or dreams (Pluto in the 12th House sesquiscuare Moon in the 5th House, Taurus, ruled by Venus in the 12th House … Moon square Neptune in the 2nd House) … thus, Mercury in the 12th House Capricorn, correlates with the need for a linear understanding of the nature of dreams, and illusions, ie, the projection of ultimate meaning on anything other than the Source … dreams which in turn create what is real for the Soul … thus, the need to understand that the Soul’s desires create the reality that is experienced by the Soul … and thus, the need to analyze and linearly understand the own desires, and the dreams and illusions that these desires create (also a reflection of the Pluto polarity point in the 6th House). This would allow him to actualize himself with total independency and in a self-sustained way, creating inner security (moon Taurus 5th House, North Node in Aries in the 4th House). Mercury in the 12th House Capricorn and its aspects to the nodes of Venus/Mercury correlates also with specific memories of past lives experiences of imprisonment (Pluto 12th House), which appear many times in the kid’s games. These memories translate at times in the kid having the feeling of being imprisoned. This is based in the kid’s Soul being originally nomadic, ie. in contact with open space and Nature … which is quite different than being at an apartment in a big city. Also, the kid’s desires to interact with other people (South Node in Libra).
Thus, Mercury in the 12th House Capricorn also correlates with the desire to recreate in some way, or to recover memories from past, imprisonment, in order to linearly understand the experience. Mercury in the 12th House correlates with the culmination of an evolutionary cycle of mental organization, in which all that is unresolved from the past is being relived or recreated for resolution. A reason why the experiences of past lives imprisonment, and seclusion, are unresolved, is because there have existed conflicting desires associated with the experiences. On one hand, the Soul has felt victimized by these experiences, and has felt would its instinctual nature repressed. On the other hand, the Soul desired to be controlled and imprisoned, because of the desire to be controlled by larger forces, ie. the Source, and because these seclusion would have pulled him deep into himself. Thus, Mercury in Capricorn associates with the need to understand in order to assume responsibility for the experiences created, ie. that they reflect his own dreams and desires, in order to embrace the nature of these desires in a new way (the new cycle that is preparing-Mars balsamic conjunct Pluto, North Node in Aries in a cardinal House).
At his current age (6 years 6 months), this symbol correlates also with the need of words that make him feel secure and safe, words of unconditional love (Mercury 12th House), support and encouragement (Moon 5th House, Taurus), he also needs to be said how special he is, how important, how beautiful his Soul is, and how proud and happy one feels for having him as a son (Moon in the 5th House) ... he needs to know that he will never be abandoned (12th House, Saturn in Cancer squaring the nodes, etc.
God Bless,
Gonzalo

Rad, Jason, Gray ... others reading this thread ... deleted information re asteroid asmodeus, for this reason: in reality the nature of such being as per the sources quoted has no relation with the desire nature of Luciano' Soul, and thus, it is not a relevant symbol in his birthchart because, in my view, he wouldn't have attracted such type of influences which could be reflected in that specific asteroid ...
... sorry if mislead someone (hope not...) ...
With Love,
God Bless,

Hi all,
I was not able to work on this today as I expected, I will do so tomorrow or Saturday, I apologize for the mis-forecast.
Gonzalo, your clarification re: that asteroid makes total sense to me.

Hello Gonzalo,
no worries I did read some of your post about that asteroid but didn't have the time to delve deep into it as the past week has been very busy for me including traveling long distances. i am back home now and re-centering myself and will hopefully be posting something soon for your Mercury thread. thank you for all of the detailed guidance you recently posted. love, Gray

Hi Gonzalo, Rad, Gray,
Here are my observations related to this Soul’s Mercury and nodes of Mercury.
With Mercury and its South Node in the 12th house and in Capricorn, this Soul has been and is continuing to develop its ability to mentally bridge form and formlessness, time and timelessness. His perception is attuned both to ultimate realities beyond mental constructs as well as the conditioned and constructed phenomenal reality of expressed as time and space. To take in particular the phenomenon of time, Mercury in the 12th and in Capricorn, with Mercury on its own South Node, also suggests he has been working on coming to terms with the phenomenon of Time itself. In the spiritual evolutionary condition, at some level he has begun to understand the arbitrariness of time, yet, because he has many experiences of not being understood and being in some way or another cast out and attacked, he can tend to take a very heavy-handed approach to time, insisting on the correctness of his own structure and getting steadily more and more rigid and entrenched when he is opposed, in part because he has tended to define his thinking in relation to how he thinks others perceive him, which he can be quite insecure about (Mercury in Capricorn; Saturn, ruler of Mercury SN and Mercury, in Cancer in the 7th house conjunct Cassandra and in grand cross with Chiron, Jupiter, and the nodal axis). And instead of working to get very clear about who he is, to develop a sense of security that is deeply based inside (lunar north node, Saturn resolution node in 4th), this insecurity and the rigidity this situation creates (which then creates conflict which then creates more insecurity) drives him to try to take charge and again to get very identified with his own cosmology (SN in 10th, conjunct Jupiter).
But his relationship to time also has powerful possibilities: if he works to develop an internal security within himself about his own thinking process, and to be of genuine service to others (Mercury polarity in the 6th Cancer), rather than concentrating on being in charge or having it “together”, then he can access a powerful total disidentification with Time, yet also a powerful ability to make use of it. In this sense he can be a true karma yogi, who can act with great mastery in the finite sense-world while maintaining an absorption in the infinite that allows a total detachment from the sense-world.
Mercury in the 12th and Capricorn also shows that his thinking has tended to be conditioned by an obligation he feels that it needs to be socially useful and relevant. So on the one hand, his thinking process is naturally free and bridges beyond typical left-brain limitations, at the same time, there is a strong urge to be useful and to be recognized by the social collective as useful.
Mercury conjunct Venus shows that his mind tends to focus on what he has already decided is important. He will probably organize his perception in such a way as to support the values he has, and his Mercury in crescent square to Jupiter shows that he is very concentrated in collecting information relative to the substantiation of his own belief system, with which he has become relatively identified in past lives (SN conjunct Jupiter). He is trying to solidify this and again there is an insecurity and fear of failure related to this, so he will tend to develop his thoughts and ideas internally, go over them again and again, and then bring them out into the world, testing himself and others, somehow trying to get what he has to say across. It is going to be hard for him to express these in part because much of what he has to say really transcends language and cannot be effectively captured by that means (12th house).
When he is successful in this, it is profoundly satisfying to him, he has a real need for validation and to feel special and unique (Mercury trine Moon in 5th). The possibility exists, of course, for a kind of egotism developing out of this, and a feeling of being more intelligent than others, and therefore superior to others. He can be pretty determined about getting this kind of attention and is vulnerable to getting stuck in this, it just comes so naturally to him and will be a real temptation to just hang out lazily in the experience of receiving attention from others. He will definitely need to continuously break out of the “special” roles his mental capacity can generate for him, and to confront himself and penetrate to his core beyond all those roles, and let them go, again and again (Moon polarity point in Scorpio 11th), lest he get very identified with them.
Mercury conjunct Venus also suggests an elegance to his reasoning. Higher mathematics would seem to be a potential gift – mathematics being a kind of language to describe the phenomenal world, and to convey through concepts such ideas as “infinity,” the mind attempting through elegant linear formulations to describe the non-linear world. In particular geometries, the mathematics of form and shape (Venus), and from here it is easy to see the connection to the building and architecture (Capricorn) already discussed.
Mercury Venus conjunct and conjunct their own nodes as well shows that the Soul has been developing a kind of “aesthetic reasoning” for many lifetimes – along with Jupiter in Libra to which these are crescent square, there is a perceptual recognition of beauty and its connection to truth rather like Keats “Beauty is truth, truth beauty”. This in part has to do with the Soul’s capacity to discern hidden (12th house) patterns of order (Capricorn) in what might appear random to others. There could even be an element of synesthesia, either neurologically or simply in terms of metaphor, where the Soul perceives elements of reality through senses not typically associated with those (hearing colors, seeing sounds) – this could be connected to a deep connection to ultimate reality which makes sense vehicles irrelevant in some sense, but it could also be quite confusing and could result in distorted perceptions that confine him to his own reality, not understood by others.
The other possibility is of a kind of idealism that can occur as the Soul seeks information to confirm its belief that truth is beautiful – and a kind of escapism from the elements of truth which are not, in the limited eyes of the ego at least – beautiful. The world could be perceived and arranged, and heard, through rose-colored glasses; again the Soul refusing to give these up when challenged for all of the reasons already discussed above.
The waning septile to Uranus in the 3rd, Pisces, shows that the Soul has been working to develop the relationship between the higher mind, and particularly its receptivity to vast amounts of cosmic information, and the linear left-brain mind. He will, in this lifetime, have built-in fated experiences that assist him in keeping on track with that process any time he starts to veer out. A great example is this very conversation: astrologers (Uranus) make sense of and name (3rd house) the reality of his past-life dreams (Pisces). It is also interesting to consider that this entire conversation this week has taken place with transiting Chiron sitting on that Uranus exact by degree, healing in this area; and also with transiting Saturn conjunct his natal Pallas and square his natal Mercury, again both exact by degree, bringing greater structure to the understanding of his perceptual functioning. And of course the symbolism around structuring an approach to healing that distinguishes and clarifies his special abilities and unique capacities (transiting Saturn biquintile transiting Chiron overlayed on the natal Pallas biquintile natal Uranus).
Finally, Mercury is also at the pivot point in a T-square with Pallas in Libra in the 10th and Vesta in Aries in the 4rd. To me this shows his thinking function in some way at the juncture of a powerful tension that his Soul carries relative to the the correct use of life-force/sexual energy/eros. Both Pallas Athena and Vesta come to us through the patriarchy as virgins. Pallas Athena redirects the sexual/life-current up through the spinal centers to the crown. Vesta, in right relationship to the sexual function pre-patriarchy, would focus this same energy through the second chakra, however relative to the patriarchy this has been effectively blocked. The opposition of Pallas and Vesta in the 10th and 4th houses respectively would suggest that the Soul has blocked its basic internal needs and drive for sexual connection and nurturance in favor of redirecting its energy to the psychic centers; this in fulfillment of a public role and a special destiny relative to the public which is very basic to the Soul (Pallas waning quintile Pluto). Mercury and its SN are in a crescent square relative to Pallas and a 3rd quarter square relative to Vesta. This shows that on the one hand Mercury has been operating and will continue to operate to “map out” and understand, communicate, the psychic function, in some sense as an instrument of the same; at the same time, there is also a great deal of thinking taking place about the choices that have been made in terms of blocking the Vesta energy: a crisis in consciousness requiring new perspectives regarding personal sexual needs and desires, change of values, letting go of any conditioning that has been taken on in the process of being useful to the culture.
His Mercury NN is in Aquarius in the 2nd house. Right away we can see there is an evolutionary intention that his thinking function be put in the service of building a solid base of values and boundaries, for himself, through deconditioning from all of the conditioning the Soul has felt the contractions of, and been in reaction to. This is strongly in accordance with the overall evolutionary intentions in the Soul to “incarnate” fully (Mercury NN trine PPP in 6th house). Relative to the goddess T-square described above, this NN conjunct Juno and Neptune in the 2nd house also speaks of developing a totally new mental conceptualization of what we could call “spiritual relationship,” independent of any conditioning, i.e. the possibility of having fulfilling sexual relationships and still being spiritually awake and available. The conjunction with the South Node of Neptune suggests this in part involves remembering past lives prior to the patriarchy where this was indeed the case (as per our Juno cosmograms) and there was not a false split between spirit and flesh.
The ruler of Mercury’s North Node is Uranus in Pisces, conjunct the South Node of Juno, reinforcing the statements above. In addition, this Uranus in Pisces in the 3rd house involves participating more in the give-and-take of spiritual discourse, not having to be alone with his thoughts (12th) anymore, sharing in the context of spiritual groups for example. Of course, this also shows that there is an evolutionary intention to decondition from rigidities and surrender to the interactive experience, rather than cling to beliefs and cosmologies which he had to do for reasons explained above. This Uranus in Pisces also being quintile to his Pluto demonstrating that the evolution of his thinking process, and its “ventilation” – opening it up, exposing it, sharing it, in a way that is cooperative and not hierarchical (Capricorn) – is key to his accomplishing the special destiny the Soul has in this lifetime.
God bless, Jason

Hi Jason
Thank you so much for your post.
I am not sure in what sub-stage within the spiritual condition is Luciano's Soul. I had simply assumed he is in the spiritual condition, and supposed it would be 1st stage. But I don't really know ... and it seems necessary from the EA point of view to determine the sub-stage ...
Perhaps you have already assessed this, Jason ...
Rad, could you tell what the evolutionary condition sub-stage is Luciano in?
Thanks so much
God Bless,
Gonzalo

Hi Gonzalo,
My sense is his Soul is about right in the middle of the 1st Stage Spiritual. Both you and Jason have done remarkable EA work concerning his natal Mercury and it's nodes.

Hi Jason, and Rad ... In the spiritual evolutionary condition, at some level he has begun to understand the arbitrariness of time … This seems very accurate to me in that the Soul begins at 1st sub-stage spiritual (or even at the 3rd stage individuated) to have “glimpses” of the eternal, which by the end of the 1st sub-stage spiritual gives place to experiences of non-dual consciousness, which will progressively reveal the illusory nature of time in following EA stages … being in the middle of the 1st sub-stage spiritual, as Rad observed, Mercury in the 12th House Capricorn thus reflects the desire to understand the phenomenon of time, as you pointed out, and its relation to the eternal … in this sense, if I’m not wrong, Mercury’s correlation to breathing would indicate –being in the 12th House Capricorn-the type of meditation he will need to practice, based on concentration on breath progressively leading to the breath to stop, ie. 1-2 meditation … … yet, because he has many experiences of not being understood and being in some way or another cast out and attacked, he can tend to take a very heavy-handed approach to time, insisting on the correctness of his own structure and getting steadily more and more rigid and entrenched when he is opposed, in part because he has tended to define his thinking in relation to how he thinks others perceive him, which he can be quite insecure about (Mercury in Capricorn; Saturn, ruler of Mercury SN and Mercury, in Cancer in the 7th house conjunct Cassandra and in grand cross with Chiron, Jupiter, and the nodal axis).
… where the problem has lied in trying along many lifetimes to be useful in ways that don’t reflect his inherent capacities and evolving Soul purposes … which occurred for several reasons, including reacting to lifetimes where the Soul chose an almost absolute seclusion, ie. the extremes between total seclusion and total immersion in social reality … (the Soul’s learning of how balance these extremes-South Node Libra-, which is a critical lesson with Pluto being in the 12th House) …
Wow, hadn’t thought of using the Moon polarity point, but now it makes total sense to me … Mercury conjunct Venus also suggests an elegance to his reasoning.
… this is very interesting to consider … and, to me, connects with the mutability and adaptability of the Mercury archetype, and how this Mercury mutability/adaptability reflects the nature of the mutable cross within Zodiac, which includes Pisces … and which of course have a potential to manifest in the ways you point out when Mercury is in the 12th House or Pisces, etc. It is well known that the brain creates neurological connections-synapsis (Mercury, Uranus)-which are far beyond the direct connections required for the brain functioning … which allow the brain to create simultaneous or alternative routes for synapsal communication … I suppose the specific case of synesthesia can be based on these alternative or anomal routes (12th House), allowing information within the brain to be received and processed by centers different than the ‘normal’ primary centers connected to a specific function or sense … … the mutability of the Mercury archetype also connects to the fact it operates in a ‘context’, which is the totality of the phenomenal reality which is perceived by the Soul … including and compounding all types of phenomena, ie. whatever is within the perceptual field defined by the Soul will serve as the background for Mercury operation … this includes ‘external’ phenomena but also inner phenomena such as emotion, sensation, and pre-existing thoughts … this can manifest as thoughts that have the form of a physical sensation or perception which is being experienced at the same time the thought is manifesting ie., a flower in a tree in the garden is subconsciously within the perceptual field, then manifesting as a thought about any other thing but having the form or scheme of the flower … same thing with a sensation …. Given that Mercury is conjunct Venus, which rules the South Node in Libra, and in turn is ruled by Saturn in the 7th -Libra House, we can know that extremes have existed in the Soul’s past relating to how much it has opened, or closed, its perception of phenomenal reality, for several reasons and manifesting several dynamics which we have been talking about … each part or selection having the possibility of being considered more than it really is, or given too much meaning (12th House), which of course implies that some other aspect or part of the phenomenal reality is not given enough consideration …. for some years Luciano manifested a quite dangerous combination of absent-mindedness and impulsive action, in which he could suddenly pass from an almost total stillness to jumping, throwing himself or start running in any unchecked direction, thus hitting himself many times against the walls, or other people, etc. … The other possibility is of a kind of idealism that can occur as the Soul seeks information to confirm its belief that truth is beautiful – and a kind of escapism from the elements of truth which are not, in the limited eyes of the ego at least – beautiful.
Well, I would want to share some of the conversation with Luciano about those lifetimes Rad told about in which he was a master builder … he said to me “dad, I really thank you for doing this for me (using his birthchart for our analysis here at the mb)” … he also asked how did I know about those lifetimes, so I said something like my EA teacher has some special very evolved gifts which allow him to see the actual lifetimes of a Soul … and then relate those lifetimes to the symbols in the birthchart … Luciano almost shouted (he was really impressed) “wow, that’s so incredible” … later he said “hey dad, you know what? … I believe what you told me, is true … “ Finally, Mercury is also at the pivot point in a T-square with Pallas in Libra in the 10th and Vesta in Aries in the 4rd. … fascinating … this supports the correlation of Mercury Capricorn 12th House with both mysticism and mechanicism as potential manifestations, where the causal factor in such extreme thought orientations is sexual repression creating an excessive upward flow of energy that creates confusion, leading to idealization, where the dogmatic error of an external God gets confirmation because the body is being depleted of life energy, and, in the other extreme, creates an automated functioning in a world that lacks any meaning and is supposed to operate through the action of mechanic laws… Mercury and its SN are in a crescent square relative to Pallas and a 3rd quarter square relative to Vesta. This is very useful, Jason, thanks so much for pointing this out … His Mercury NN is in Aquarius in the 2nd house.
This is very important, and of course it also implies the need to discriminate reflected in the Pluto polarity point as to whom to share this type of conversation with, and with whom not … given the relativity of different Soul’s orientations and existing possibilities of understanding … Thank you so much, Jason, for offering your analysis and the ongoing discussion ... God Bless, Gonzalo

Hi Gonzalo, This seems very accurate to me in that the Soul begins at 1st sub-stage spiritual (or even at the 3rd stage individuated) to have “glimpses” of the eternal, which by the end of the 1st sub-stage spiritual gives place to experiences of non-dual consciousness, which will progressively reveal the illusory nature of time in following EA stages … being in the middle of the 1st sub-stage spiritual, as Rad observed, Mercury in the 12th House Capricorn thus reflects the desire to understand the phenomenon of time, as you pointed out, and its relation to the eternal … Yes this was based on 1st stage spiritual, I thought you had said that earlier but glad that Rad made it clear. It is well known that the brain creates neurological connections-synapsis (Mercury, Uranus)-which are far beyond the direct connections required for the brain functioning … which allow the brain to create simultaneous or alternative routes for synapsal communication … I suppose the specific case of synesthesia can be based on these alternative or anomal routes (12th House), allowing information within the brain to be received and processed by centers different than the ‘normal’ primary centers connected to a specific function or sense … Another way the 12th house Mercury could be looked at when connected to the more advanced spiritual stages of evolution, is that rather than collecting data through the senses in the conventional way, the individual simply has a knowing or a direct consciousness of how phenomena are arranged, but that then when this is “translated” for the purposes of being shared with others, the sensory route used for description is at variance with the one with which it would be perceived through the conventional sense-gathering route (e.g. sound is described as “yellow” etc.). … the mutability of the Mercury archetype also connects to the fact it operates in a ‘context’, which is the totality of the phenomenal reality which is perceived by the Soul … including and compounding all types of phenomena, ie. whatever is within the perceptual field defined by the Soul will serve as the background for Mercury operation … this includes ‘external’ phenomena but also inner phenomena such as emotion, sensation, and pre-existing thoughts … this can manifest as thoughts that have the form of a physical sensation or perception which is being experienced at the same time the thought is manifesting ie., a flower in a tree in the garden is subconsciously within the perceptual field, then manifesting as a thought about any other thing but having the form or scheme of the flower … same thing with a sensation …. So if Mercury operates within a context in this manner, is this context defined by Jupiter/9th house/Sagittarius? This would make sense to me, in the sense that beliefs and cosmologies condition what can be perceived and named. … That also sounds like Saturn opposite the Ascendant, testing (consciously or unconsciously) the limits of the physical form . . . … I believe what you told me, is true … “ Thank you for sharing this. What a great conversation to have at age 6. Also, I didn’t know he was your son, that’s neat. Finally, Mercury is also at the pivot point in a T-square with Pallas in Libra in the 10th and Vesta in Aries in the 4rd. To me this shows his thinking function in some way at the juncture of a powerful tension that his Soul carries relative to the correct use of life-force/sexual energy/eros. And the automatic obedience of going through the motions you describe, very much the futility/defeat experience of Capricorn. Thanks for the ongoing conversation, look forward to more Mercury when its time… God bless, Jason

Hi Rad, and Jason … “So if Mercury operates within a context in this manner, is this context defined by Jupiter/9th house/Sagittarius? This would make sense to me, in the sense that beliefs and cosmologies condition what can be perceived and named.” Personally, I’m not sure about which archetype(s) would directly define that context, ie. the phenomenal background in which Mercury creates the immediate linear connections, arrangements. My feeling is that this context is defined by several layers, ie. planets, all of which interface among them in different ways, and create the specific reality that is experienced by the individual Soul (Pluto). The composite of all these layers, ie. the dynamics reflected in the birthchart, and the reality they create, are filtered by the egocentric structure of the Soul- the Moon, in order to create a focus of conscious awareness for the Soul within the overall reality of diffuse images. Cancer being opposed to Capricorn implies at this level that the creation of an ego by the individual Soul is conditioned by the soul’s a specific structure of consciousness, relative to the plane of manifestation: material world when incarnated and the astral world before birth or after death (in both of these planes the Soul has an ego-Moon- and a Mercury function of thought and communication, which despite being different from the thought/language in the incarnated consciousness because of this being conditioned by space/time, both ‘realms’ of Mercury operations implying some type of linear arrangement or selection within the total reality experienced by the Soul). Thus, the Mercury function is conditioned by the structure of the individual consciousness. Within the incarnated existence, the Soul will normally know or experience the inner and outer phenomenal reality through the direct functions of Venus-sensation, feeling, and Moon/Pluto-emotion, and then linear thought arrangements concerning the survival and security needs of a progressively self-conscious ‘ego’, ie. the adaptative mutable function of Mercury manifesting in a species that became self-conscious, created languages, culture, societies, and regulations, etc. which again condition in varying degrees the context in which the individual Mercury operates. Jupiter correlates with beliefs which filter what can be considered as real. At same time, the function of Jupiter continuously interfaces with the Mercury operation, in the interchange of information and patterns that organize this information, at several levels, such as the organization of the perceptual stimuli, and “data”, or in abstract thought, etc. Further, the Soul has the inherent capacity to create and recreate memories, ie. experiences which are beyond the incarnated Soul’s space time reality (Uranus and Mercury-long and short term memory), and to create and recreate images through imagination (Pisces). At same time, a large part of this context normally is not fully conscious for most Souls. And yet, Mercury is also creating some order in which the subconscious contents are manifesting in the awareness (for example: I may not be aware in a moment of the sensation of my foot on the floor, but the nervous connections (Mercury) exist in my body that are communicating sensorial data to my brain, which is creating a sensation which is then projected to that part of the body; the sensation is potentially within my conscious awareness, and I can manifest a thought involving the sensation of my foot); unconscious can condition the nature of the thoughts and language that the Soul manifests (as Freud revealed in his analysis of the lapsus linguae, and jokes), and Mercury can also communicate to conscious awareness (Moon) contents that are in deeper levels of the subconscious (Pluto), either in dreams or in waking states, etc. In any moment in time, the Soul’s immediate circumstantial reality is defined by a varying combination of these aspects of experience, or layers, which interface within consciousness, in forms that are different for each individual Soul in each ongoing moment. Rad, Jason, does this make sense? My feeling is that it makes sense, but also that there may be another level in which the answer to this question may be more simple… “Yes, thank you for describing that about how the body is depleted of life force by the “up and out” orientation, thereby reconfirming the mistake of an external God, and the disdain for the flesh – this is something I often see when energy is being moved in this way, very useful to frame with clients. Wilhelm Reich wrote about that in a book called “Ether, God and Evil”, where he describes how, according to his own investigations and theories about the orgone, the thought orientations he calls mechanicism and mysticism, are conditioned by the energy block at the pelvic area or segment, resulting of patriarchal sexual and emotional repression. I quote this with the feeling it is ok to make reference to an author that is quite aligned or convergent with the EA perspective in some specific aspects, such as natural sexuality from a biological point of view, and the effects of patriarchal conditioning at an individual and collective level (keeping in mind that Reich was a scientist and relative to his evolutionary condition which I would say was 3rd stage individuated …). Thanks so much for the ongoing discussion, feedback, and guidance God Bless, Gonzalo

Hi Gonzalo,
Yes, all makes sense. It is the 9th House, Sagittarius, and Jupiter that all correlate to the nature of the phenomenal reality of the Creation.
God Bless, Rad
