  • Lucifer: Adversary vs. Bearer of Light

    By Adina Mather | October 3, 2009

Lucifer: Adversary vs. Bearer of Light as Seen Through the Mystic Rectangle of Scorpio/Taurus/Pisces/Virgo

Although the concepts of good and evil are familiar to us all, it was astrologer Jeffrey Wolf Green who brought the archetype of evil and the asteroid Lucifer to light in relation to the paradigm of Evolutionary Astrology. The archetype of evil as seen through the horoscope is associated with Pluto, Scorpio and the 8th house. Since the soul itself is also represented through Pluto, Scorpio and the 8th house, we can see that the possibility for the influence of evil is intrinsic to the soul, just as the influence for good is intrinsic to the soul, since it was created by God.

Lucifer, along with the other archangels, was given the charge of serving humanity. However, Lucifer refused to serve humanity as God had directed, and therefore, was ‘expelled’ by God, which is a phenomenon I understand is unique to archangels when they refuse to do what God has asked them to do. Now feeling victimized by God (Pisces) and refusing to take responsibility for his own actions (Capricorn), Lucifer blamed the very humans he was supposed to have helped in an effort to bring them down in the same way that he had ‘fallen.’, i.e., ‘misery loves company.’

As we know through the paradigm of Evolutionary Astrology, as well as through some of the great spiritual teachings of the world, the soul contains two opposite and antithetical desires. One desire is to separate from the Source of creation–God, Goddess, Spirit–and one desire is to return to that Source. Through our desire to return to the Source, that Source, or God/dess, is continually coaxing us back, encouraging our desire and efforts to return. Through our myriad desires to remain separate from the Source, Lucifer, or evil influences or urges us to remain separate. The intent of Lucifer/evil is to separate, not unify.

    The Pluto in Scorpio Generation

    By Deva Green | February 1, 2009

The Pluto in Scorpio Generation From an Evolutionary Point of View:
    “Generation We”

The intention of this article is to describe the core evolutionary intentions of the Pluto in Scorpio generation using the methodology that is applied in the practice of Evolutionary Astrology founded by Jeffrey Wolf Green (author of Pluto: Evolutionary Journey of the Soul volume 1 and 2).

We will look at this generation from both an individual and collective level (Pluto has both a collective and individual application). In other words, all those that have Pluto in Scorpio have the same core evolutionary intentions, yet each person has an unique natal horoscope that will dramatically alter the expression and personal application of Pluto. For example, in the natal chart Pluto will obviously occupy a specific house, and may be making aspects to other planets ( As an example, Pluto in Scorpio in the 1st house has a vastly different   expression then Pluto in Scorpio in the 4th house). The sign that Pluto is in symbolizes the core evolutionary lessons, intentions and desires of the past of the entire generation that has Pluto in that sign. The specific house that Pluto is in correlates with the unique and individualized lessons, desires,  and intentions of the Soul’s past.

    One Voice

    By Adina Mather | January 20, 2009

Years ago, in a song that was not as well known as many of his others, Barry Manilow sang:

    Just One Voice,
    Singing in the darkness,
All it takes is One Voice,
Singing so they hear what’s on your mind,
And when you look around you’ll find
    There’s more than
    One Voice,
    Singing in the darkness,
    Joining with your One Voice….

As the School of Evolutionary Astrology is launched, along with its blog, by a group of certified Evolutionary Astrologers, I thought it was fitting to acknowledge and celebrate that “one voice” that began the “song” of evolutionary astrology (EA) back in the 1970s: Jeffrey Wolf Green. Long before others who are practicing evolutionary astrology today were doing so, Jeffrey had realized the EA paradigm and was using its principles to counsel clients. He WAS that “one voice” singing, in the world of astrology, followed now by those here, as well as many others.

Thoughts about Capricorn – from another viewpoint

    By Lia Breznay | January 20, 2009

I would like to start with an observation; a chart of Jesus of Nazareth which is accepted as authentic by our teacher, Jeffrey Wolf Green (source: Donald Jacobs, the chart itself is found in Pluto: The Evolutionary Journey of the Soul, volume 1, page 182) has an interesting yet rather hidden correlation to the sign of Capricorn. A correlation far deeper than the mostly believed birthday of December 25 would bring him to this archetype.

When I was very young, I thought this was his birthday, and it seemed to make sense to me: being a  “scapegoat” going through the a horrific process of being socially judged, shamed and “punished” for who he is, and him taking the burden with such a soul-felt love for humanity as a whole, including those who done this to him.

Today it is obvious to me that the symbolism with the yearly renewal cycle actually comes from the old forgotten mother culture, i.e. symbolically sacrificing/recycling the beloved son/lover of the Goddess for the new life to spring out of the old, is what is hidden in the Capricorn symbolism. It is the winter solstice in the northern hemisphere. The days from December 22 through 24 are the shortest; the lengths of the day appear to come to a halt for three days. Then on the 25th the Sun appears to be set free and continues its yearly journey, as the days slowly become longer again each day. But I had no idea of this then. To me it was news that Christmas is not just for Christmas presents, but that there was a man called Christ whom I was told was born on the 25th of December.
